APPROVAL of a Public Works Engineering Contract between the City of Topeka and Cook, Flatt and Strobel Engineers, P.A., in the amount of $399,000 for the purpose of providing engineering services to include data collection, topographic mapping, and plans and specifications for construction bid letting.
(Contract is for design services. Approval will authorize the City Manager to sign and execute the contract for the amount of $399,000.)
| VOTING REQUIREMENTS: | Action requires at least six (6) votes of the Governing Body. | POLICY ISSUE: | Whether to approve the contract for professional services. Pursuant to TMC 3.30.010, all contracts for professional services exceeding $50,000 must be approved by the Governing Body. | STAFF RECOMMENDATION: | Staff recommends the Governing Body approve the contract as part of the consent agenda. | BACKGROUND: | The City requested proposals for professional engineering services for the Central Highland Park Neighborhood Project T-841091.06 under bid event 2688 in late 2022. The services include utilizing the Central Highland Park Neighborhood Streets Improvement Plan provided by the City in order to produce an engineering design and construction documents for implementing the plan. CFS provided the only proposal and is highly qualified to perform the contract. Staff recommend approval.
