APPROVAL of a three year labor agreement between the City of Topeka and Development Services Division of AFSCME Council 61, Local 1294.
Voting Requirement: Action requires at least six (6) votes of the Governing Body.
(Approval would provide guidelines for management and employees in the bargaining unit. Term of agreement is from 2023 through 2025.)
| VOTING REQUIREMENTS: | Action requires at least six (6) votes of the Governing Body. | POLICY ISSUE: | Pursuant to Topeka Municipal Code Section 2.25.020(a) approval of employee agreements between the City and a recognized employee organization is approved by the Governing Body and signed by the City Manager. | STAFF RECOMMENDATION: | Staff recommends the Governing Body move to approve the agreement. | BACKGROUND: | A tentative agreement has been reached and ratified by bargaining unit members. A summary of all agreed changes is attached. The agreement provides for a 4% increase to the wage schedule for 2023, a 1.5% for 2024 and a 1.5% increase in 2025. Eligible employees will also receive one step increase each year of the contract.
