BOARD APPOINTMENT recommending the appointment of Frank Burnam to the Topeka Public Building Commission for a term ending November 15, 2021.  (Council District No. 4)

The Mayor does not vote.
POLICY ISSUE:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Mayor Wolgast is recommending the appointment of Frank Burnam for a term that would end November 15, 2021.  Mr. Burnam resides within the City.

BACKGROUND:

KSA 12-1757. This is a statutory board wherein the Mayor recommends and the Council has final approval. The Topeka Public Building Commission was created pursuant to KSA 12-1757 et seq., and shall have the powers granted according to the provisions of the statute, not inconsistent with the provisions contained within the Topeka City Code. The Commission is to be comprised of members nominated from USD 501, the Kansas Secretary of Administration, the Shawnee County Commissioners as well as four members nominated by the Mayor; only the nominees from the Mayor require residency within the city limits.
