A REVISED PETITION, A REVISED PROJECT BUDGET in the amount of $270,265 and AN AMENDED RESOLUTION OF ADVISABLILITY AND AUTHORIZATION introduced by Interim City Manager Doug Gerber, authorizing Improvement Project T-401062.00 which will provide sanitary sewer service in Horseshoe Bend Subdivision No. 4 located near SE 43rd Street and SE Grand Oaks Avenue as more specifically described therein. (Council District No. 5)

 

(Approval would increase the previous project budget of $ 219,495 by $50,770 for a total project budget of $270,265 to provide sanitary sewer services in the Horseshoe Bend Subdivision No. 4 located near SE 43rd Street and SE Grand Oaks Avenue.  The petition project would be funded 100% by the owners of the property within the Improvement District.)

POLICY ISSUE:

The project is being brought back to the City Council to increase the project budget by $50,770 for a total project budget of $270,265.  The sanitary sewer services would be funded 100% by property owners in the Improvement District.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends the Governing Body move to approve the revised petition, revised project budget and resolution.

BACKGROUND:

The petition, project budget and resolution are being revised to reflect an increase in project costs of $50,770 (from the previously approved project budget of $219,495 to the new project budget of $270,265).  This project will include design and construction services, manholes and piping.

 

The Improvement District in Horseshoe Bend Subdivision No. 4 includes: 

 

Lot 1, Block "A"

Lots 1 through 4, Block "B"

Lots 1 through 6, Block "C"

Lots 1 through 12, Block "D"

Lots 1 through 6, Block "E"

Lots 1 through 7, Block "F"

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The total project budget is $270,265.  The City of Topeka would finance the cost through General Obligation Bonds.  This cost would be repaid through assessment on a unit basis for all lots included in the Improvement District.

SOURCE OF FUNDING:

The project will be paid at 100% by the owners within the Improvement District.
